A confidential peer forum for in-house tax and accounting leaders.
“BECAUSE LEADERSHIP SHOULD NOT BE LONELY”
When leaders feel they must always have the answer, they stop reaching out, stop learning, and leadership becomes isolating. Meridian Leadership Collective is a private forum where tax and accounting leaders build confidence, connection, and decisive action with peers who understand the stakes.
Six-month season. Monthly 60-minute sessions. Curated cohort.
Who it’s for
Designed for Senior Managers and above in in-house tax and accounting with three or more years of people leadership. Members value confidentiality, candor, and contribution, and they want a place where leadership is practiced with peers who understand the stakes.
You Know These Challenges
The CFO conversation you've been avoiding because you haven't figured out how to translate the tax complexity into language they'll engage with
The cross-functional project that requires operational change in other departments, but you don't have the influence or bandwidth to drive it
The team member who's disengaged or about to quit, and you keep postponing the conversation
The strategic tax planning opportunity that could save millions, but requires resilience and influence you're still building
The isolation of being the only tax person in executive conversations, with no safe place to admit what's actually hard
This is what we work through in Meridian Leadership Collective. Not theoretically. With real challenges, real hot seats, and peers who understand the stakes.
What this isn’t
This is NOT technical training, CPE credits, or consulting. This is facilitated leadership practice with peers who understand your world. We work on real challenges, produce actionable tactics, and build the skills they never taught you in tax school.
What’s Included
Six monthly 60-minute sessions facilitated by a former Head of Tax who's led exactly where you're leading now
A curated peer circle of 6-8 in-house tax and accounting leaders at your level (Senior Manager+, 3+ years of people leadership)
Two hot seats per session where members bring real challenges and get peer input plus coach facilitation
Documented tactic cards after each hot seat with clear language, decision frames, and next steps you can use immediately
Between-session support in a private LinkedIn group for when challenges emerge before the next call
A confidential container where you can be vulnerable about the leadership moments that feel impossible to discuss anywhere else
Six-month commitment that creates sustained momentum, not one-off insights
What You'll Walk Away With
Clarity on the conversations you've been avoiding or overthinking - with specific language you can use the next day
A practical framework you can apply immediately - for influence, difficult conversations, delegation, or navigating conflict
Peer insight on two real leadership challenges per session - yours or others' - with tactics you can adapt to your own situations
Trusted relationships with 7 other leaders who understand your world and can help you think through what's hard
Reduced stress from separating what you control from what you don't - and a clear next step you can take
The result: You lead with more confidence, less isolation, and the ability to take decisive action even when the stakes are high.
What Members Are Saying
“The monthly cohort meetings have been helpful in seeking input not only for my own leadership challenges, but also in hearing how others approach different topics (for example, prioritization, difficult conversations, effectively escalating issues to executive leadership). As finance professionals, we're often heads down trying to get the next task or project done. The cohort meetings have reminded me to step back and think about the outcome that my team is trying to achieve. The frameworks that have been introduced will help me be more successful going forward.”
Kathryn Flynn - Vice President, Controller | Current Member
“MLC has been a great opportunity to share work challenges in a judgement free zone while learning tips to change thinking and scripts to use for difficult conversations.
I’ve appreciated the different points of view from other members of the cohort and realized that I was not the only one struggling with some of these issues.”
Assistant Corporate Controller | Current Member

About Greg Crossan
I spent 30 years in tax and accounting, including 15 years at the executive level. I built three tax functions from the ground up, including as Head of Tax at Bose Corporation, where I led strategic tax planning that saved the company millions.
I also experienced firsthand what this leadership felt like: CFOs who wanted no surprises but didn't want to engage with complexity. The cross-functional influence battles I wasn't trained for. The isolation of being expected to always have the answer when I was figuring it out in real time.
I wished I'd had a confidential circle of peers who understood the unique pressure of tax and accounting leadership. So I built one.
Meridian Leadership Collective is that circle.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
-
No. The focus is leadership, communication, influence, conflict resolution, connection, and growth.
-
One 60-minute meeting per month for six months, with an optional 15-minute buffer.
-
Limited to eight leaders per cohort.
-
Yes. Confidentiality is a core rule. In tax and accounting leadership, admitting uncertainty can feel like admitting incompetence. The cost of mistakes is high, regulatory pressure is constant, and you're expected to be the expert. This creates isolation.
MLC provides a sealed container where you can work through real leadership challenges—the CFO who doesn't understand tax, the difficult conversation you're avoiding, the influence challenge you're facing—without fear of judgment or career consequences. What's discussed in the cohort stays in the cohort.

One avoided mis-hire costs $50K+. One successful CFO conversation that advances strategic tax planning can save millions. One team member who doesn't quit because you had the right conversation keeps your function running.
The investment is $1,800 for six months. This pays for itself many times over with a single leadership win. And unlike technical training, this addresses the leadership challenges that actually keep you up at night.
